Dallas Gay Pride 2011 Schedule

So Dallas Pride is just under 2 weeks away and it is time to start gearing up and getting all of the events that you are wanting to attend scheduled. This is going to be a busy year for events so I thought I would list them all out including ones that any bars may be having. Many of you may remember that Lee Park is going to be charging $5.00 this year, for more info on that you can READ ABOUT IT HERE.
Wednesday September 14th 2011
  • Mr Bear Round Up 2011 Round Up Saloon Dallas 9pm – No entry fee and there is a cash prize! Also, there is a meet and greet with Colt model Wade Neff!
Thursday September 15th 2011
  • 5th annual Dance Contest – Round Up Saloon Dallas 8pm – There are 3 levels of the competition, with Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, as well as 4 styles of dance: 2/3 step, waltz, free style and the line dance
Friday September 16th 2011
  • Miss Coco Peru – Station 4 Rose Room 7pm
Saturday September 17th 2011
  • Gay Day at Six Flags over Texas – 10am – 8pm – This is a very popular unofficial event, it is a great weekend to get out to Six flags as the weather is usually nice, and there is always tons of ‘family’ out and about.
  • Gay Bingo Wigstock Edition – Station 4 Rose Room – 5pm
  • Dallas Pride Glow Party – Dallas Eagle – 10pm-2am – The Dallas Eagle Glow Party is one of their biggest nights of the year, with the lights turned down, dance lights going and glow stick!
Sunday September 18th 2011
  • Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade – 2pm-4pm (usually runs over) – This year the Grand Marshals will be Gary Miller & Alan Pierce of the Round Up Saloon as well as Chris Bengston of Caven. The Honorary Grand Marshal is Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns. As a special VIP guest Ben Cohen will also be here (YUM!).
  • Festival in Lee Park – 11am-7pm – Usually this is packed, however this year is the first time ever that the Dallas Tavern Guild will be charging for this event ($5.00 cover, and NO byob). The line up for this year includes Anton Shaw, Mi Diva Loca, Chaz Marie and also will include awards and prizes.
  • Spectrum Dallas Pride Tea Dance – The Brick Dallas – 5pm-midnight $20 at door – Featuring DJ Phil B from San Francisco and Adam Metts, benefits the AIDS Services of Dallas through the Dallas Purple Party.
Overall it is looking like a great time to be had in the coming week! Gay Pride in Dallas is always a fun event to attend, and it always reminds me that we are about to move into fall and after this summer, that is a welcome change!
If anyone knows of any worthwhile events that aren’t listed, or if you own / manage a bar or venue and would like to get your event listed, please email Kendall@GayDFW.com
