First Look: ‘Man Of Steel’ Releases Its First Movie Poster

Back in July we got our first look at the first teaser poster for the forthcoming superhero film Superman: Man of Steel. Today we get to see the first official poster for the film and as you can see below, the poster poses more questions than it answers. In this first poster, we see Superman being escorted by a flank of soliders (police officers?) while handcuffed. Um, what? Clearly, this image is meant to clue us into the plot of the film so … I guess we’re meant to wonder what Supes did to warrant arrest. HMMM. Click below to see the poster in full and speculate with me.
A new poster for director Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot Man of Steel has been released, and Supes doesn’t look to be doing too well. We know very little about the film so it’s tough to make any assumptions about the story based on this image/poster, but it’s safe to say that Henry Cavill’s Superman won’t be loved by all. The poster does give us a great look at the full suit, however, and it’s certainly in keeping with Snyder’s “serious” approach to the character. The new trailer for the film will be attached to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, so hopefully we get a better idea of what to expect plot-wise later this month … The film also stars Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Michael Shannon. Man of Steel opens in 2D, 3D and IMAX on June 14, 2013.
Yeah, clearly not everyone in the film is going to be a Superman fan. My guess is that Superman will, at some point, subjugate himself to human law out of his abundantly good-natured heart when, in fact, he could rule planet Earth easily and without restraint … if he really wanted to. Since we know that General Zod will be the big bad in this film, I’m guessing we’re meant to see the supercharacters juxtaposed against one another. Power-hungry Zod vs. the Virtuous Superman. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new trailer for Man of Steel. The first trailer we saw over the Summer was an adequate teaser but … I want to see ACTION! What do y’all think of this poster? Impressed?
