A small plane carrying popular Mexican American singer Jenni Rivera and six others crashed early Sunday in mountainous terrain south of Monterrey, Mexico. Mexican transportation officials said no survivors were found amid the wreckage.
Rivera, 43, a Long Beach native, was best known for her interpretations of regional Mexican music, norteno and banda. The mother of five, she was one of NBCUniversal's brightest bilingual television stars, and her reality show, "I Love Jenni," on Telemundo's cable channel, mun2, is one of the channel's highest rated.
