Secy of Education: Gay-Straight Alliance Groups Protected

Gay-straight alliance groups should be afforded the same rights and protections as other student clubs at public secondary schools, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan affirmed in a Tuesday letter to the nation's educators.

"Gay-straight alliances (GSAs) and similar student-initiated groups addressing LGBT issues can play an important role in promoting safer schools and creating more welcoming learning environments," Duncan wrote.  Full story here!
