Join us Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 11am to 12 noon for the 3rd Annual Stonewall Remembrance Rally. This is a collaborative effort between R.E. and MCCBR. It is a free public event, and ALL are welcome.
Forty two years ago patrons of New York's Stonewall Inn fought back against police harassment and unjust laws that made criminals out of ordinary, decent, taxpaying American citizens.
On June 29, 1970, Gay Liberation marches were held in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco to mark the first anniversary of Stonewall. There were no lavish floats, corporate sponsors, etc. ..just ordinary people like you and me standing up for their rights. Their courage needs to be remembered for it serves as a strong beacon of hope, inspiration, and empowerment in our continued fight for full equality.
