Esurance Donates $50,000 To Gay Teen Suicide Hotline The Trevor Project

Esurance has donated $50,000 to The Trevor Project to help troubled LGBT teens.

The direct-to-consumer car insurance company pledged to donate $10 to The Trevor Project to help support the Trevor Lifeline for each new “Like” the company received on Facebook, up to $50,000.

With mentions from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and Jonathan Knight of New Kids on the Block, the campaign reached its goal in two weeks, roughly one-fourth of the time it had expected.

California-based The Trevor Project focuses on crisis and suicide prevention efforts for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. The non-profit's Lifeline is the nation's only 24-hour, toll-free confidential suicide prevention hotline for gay and questioning young people. Full story here!
